In our completely re-designed app experience, you can easily swipe through all the news and videos. You also have the option to subscribe to various alerts, including Sport, Politics, World, Finance, Weather, Entertainment, and Technology.

The app uses geo-targeting to send you 'News Near Me'. This feature alerts you to breaking news within a few kilometers of your current location. To allow access to your location, simply grant permission when prompted. This feature is particularly helpful for traffic delays, accidents, fires, floods, and police operations.

We understand that excessive alerts can be intrusive. That's why our team only sends alerts that we believe will genuinely interest you. Our alerts arrive without an audible tone to ensure you won't be disturbed at the wrong time.

The 9NEWS app also allows you to set your location by city or postcode. This ensures that you see additional stories from your state and receive weather forecasts specific to your area.
